About Us

Nature Collective exists to drive a passion for nature, for all. We believe that if we help people discover a passion for nature, they will want to protect it and value everything it has to offer. We provide experiences, such as educational field trips, events, and tours to drive curiosity and interest in nature. Significant habitat restoration, within the lagoon and beyond, restores water quality, healthier habitats and wildlife diversity.

On May 17, 2019 we unveiled our new name, Nature Collective. We were founded as San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy in 1987 by volunteer community members who were concerned about the health of San Elijo Lagoon. In the last 30+nyears, your nonprofit land trust has grown to inspire conservation action across North County San Diego, and beyond. The new name reflects these growing impacts.
