Description
Puzzled over some plants in San Elijo Lagoon?
Unravel the mysteries surrounding a variety of spring-bloomers — those that are pretty, toxic, and invasive — and that represent some of the 400 lagoon plant species.
San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy often communicates about the importance of native species to local habitats and the removal of non-native plants. Join us on this Mother’s Day tour to uncover some of the most misunderstood plants and look at non-native plants in a new light. They are good plants, just not in ideal places. As you walk the trails, you also can learn how some native plants can often be mistaken for weeds. Before and after the tour, you can learn more about plants in the Conservancy's online: Guide to the Plants of San Elijo Lagoon Ecological Reserve.
